Yes, there are 3 essays (but not really).
- Essay 1 is only 1-2 pages.
- Essays 2 and 3 just 1-2 paragraphs each!
- There are a few optional essays for additional money that we will discuss with essays 2 & 3, but there are also only about 1-2 paragraphs each.

Attending a Workshop Statistically Increases Your Chances!
After you attend a workshop, be sure to share a draft with a study abroad advisor to increase your chances even further. If you bring in your essay sooner, we can even read more than one draft of it.

Gilman Scholarship is open to U.S. citizens who receive a Pell Grant.
Attend a Gilman Workshop to gain a competitive chance to receive $5,000 for studying abroad, or $8,000 for also studying a critical language and/or STEM while abroad. In the workshops, we will be guiding you on how to turn in a successful application with competitive essays.
